It was whilst looking at the photo's that I noticed on the rear view picture just above the boot lid
a little "GT" badge
which immediately rang a bell within my mind.

This Registration No. was new to me
so I responded asking for more details and photo's if possible also offering to put a For Sale page on
the website.
A few days and a couple more emails later and Richard had sent both as shown below:

Hi
The car has limited history, it appears a previous owner bought it to restore and before commencing was advised to validate its documentation. The registration was originally 577 CPX and declared manufactured 1959.
Due to a considerable lapse of time and the DVLA re-organising their system they insisted on re-registering it. Having gone through the re-registering process the DVLA issued the current age related registration 592 UYN along with number plate authorisation certificate V948 Dated 16/10/2015. DVLA V5C Taxation Class ‘Historic Vehicle’.
The original [Sportiva] bonnet has been replaced, (apparently damaged in storage), with an 1172 bonnet. I bought the car as it is as I was interested in using the Ballamy running gear for another project. All the running gear I believe may never have been used.
I believe that the vehicle with its legal DVLA registration documentation, the Ballamy running gear and the relatively unused body unit particularly with the curved windscreen and rear screens intact must be of value. I have it advertised already at 3750 GBP ovno.

Well, that was last year and once again
in May 2019 the
Ashley 1172 re-appears
this time it's a lot less than last time.
Each re-appearance from "Sportiva" as a complete car
to "1172" with new/old bonnet and then now
just an old "bodyshell"

Hopefully someone will take pity on it and restore it
to it's former glory.
